Keeping Alkalinized With Ionized Water

A few days ago I attended a presentation on ionized water at a small, local farm in my area. The subject of water's pH and quality is very interesting as it has so much to do with our health. And really this makes sense when you consider that all life on Earth including ourselves is partly made up of water and required by all cells to continue functioning properly. But did you ever consider the importance of the pH of your water? And I don't just mean water thats free of contaminates though thats an important topic for a later post.

Ionized water contains a negative and positive charge that interact to form alkaline pH and contain many necessary minerals that keep you mineralized. An alkaline water (negative pH) helps maintain the natural pH balance of 7, which is the best for detoxification and allowing oxygen to get into cells. Without alkalinized water too much acidic waste matter may build up in the body leading to joint issues, skin problems, inflammation, and cancer even. By allowing oxygen to circulate through the cells as its supposed to there protected from free radical damage. Minerals like magnesium, calcium, sulphur, and dozens of other trace minerals are much easier to obtain from ionized water, too.

Most of the research on ionized water (or alkaline water or reduced water) has been done in Asia especially Japan where preventative medicine has long been the norm instead of western medicine's "covering up the symptoms when they appear" approach. The research from these countries has shown that alkaline water gets rid of free radicals and even protects DNA. And it may also enhance the antioxidant abilities of other foods while acting like a kind of antioxidant itself.
